- - Funniest moment: Christine Ebersole and Rod (one of the puppets from Avenue Q), where Rod introduced himself as "a puppet--and a Republican"--whereby the ever-dry Christine responded, "Oh! A Republican puppet! That rings a bell..."
- Sweetest moment: 80-year-old Patricia Neal was introduced, having won a Tony in 1947 for Best Newcomer--an award which was shortly thereafter stolen. She was graciously presented with a replacement.
- Biggest surprise: Stephen Lynch (a hilariously evil comedian/musician) in a mainstream role as the lead in The Wedding Singer.
And the extra-special best Tony-related news? Spamalot is coming to dear old Detroit this December. Now, given that Wicked sold out here in four days, hopefully I'll have a better shot at getting tickets.
