Several years ago, I drove about three hours to Lansing, Michigan, at the
crack of dawn to audition for ABC's Politically Incorrect. No, I didn't get
cast, but I did have fun and met some interesting folks. One of the things they
had us do was identify our own 'politically incorrect' stand; in my case, it was
notion that people should take responsibility for their actions, instead of
suing McDonald's after they spill hot coffee on themselves.
This whole idea is apparently surfacing again with, of all things, Oreos. Now, I will admit that chocolate covered Oreos are one of the seven wonders of the culinary world, but, according to Fast Company, Kraft (who make Oreos) are struggling with the ethics (as it were) of trying to market a patently unhealthy product. This Fast Company article includes a link to the Chicago Tribune's series, as well as some interesting posted comments.
